Vijay Parpati Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Vijay Parpati  is an Ayurvedic medicine, with herbal and mineral ingredients, in powder form. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of abdominal disorders, diarrhoea, liver disease etc.  This medicine should only be taken strictly under medical supervision.

Benefits, effect on dosha

Vijaya Parpati Benefits: It is used in the treatment of Malabsorption syndrome, diarrhoea, piles, fever, cough, cold, liver diseases, jaundice, anemia, gastritis, abdominal colic pain, chronic fever, urinary disorders, Jwara of vata and Pitta imbalance etc.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata, Pitta and Kapha

Dose

Vijaya Parpati dosage:
125 mg – 250 mg once or twice a day before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
It is traditionally administered along with fried cumin seeds and honey.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects and precautions

Vijay Parpati side effects:

  • This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
  • Self medication with this medicine may prove to be dangerous.
  • It is to be avoided in children and pregnant and lactating mothers.
  • Over-dosage may cause many poisonous side effects.
  • Take this medicine in precise dose and for limited period of time, as advised by doctor.
  • Keep out of reach and sight of children. Store in a dry cool place.

Ingredients, method of preparation

Vijay Parpati ingredients:
Shuddha Parada – Purified and processed Mercury – 24 g
Shuddha Gandhaka – Purified and processed Sulphur – 48 g
Rajata Bhasma – Calx of Silver – 12 g
Swarna Bhasma – Calx of Gold – 6 g
Vaikranta Bhasma – Calx of Tourmaline – 3 g
Mukta Bhasma – Pearl calx – 3 g

Procedure:
First, Kajjali is prepared with Parada and Gandhaka. The rest of the ingredients are added to it and triturated for a day. The mixture is taken in a ghee smeared iron ladle, melted, poured over the banana leaf kept on cow dung cake and pressed with another banana leaf and a plate. Thus formed Vijaya Parpati is kept collected in an air tight glass bottle.
