Pittashekhara Rasa is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Shree Dhootapapeshwar Limited, Mumbai, India. It is used in the treatment of heart burn, vomiting etc. 

Uses

Pittashekhara Rasa tablets uses:
As per the claims of manufacturer, it is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of hyperacidity, heart burn, pain in abdomen, nausea, vomiting, headache, giddiness, loss of appetite, hiccup, respiratory problems of Pitta origin, malabsorption syndrome.

Effect on dosha

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata, Pitta and kapha.

Dose and duration of use

Pittashekhara Rasa Dose:
1 to 2 Tablets 2-3 times a day or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

How long to take? 
It can be taken for upto 1 -2 months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Each tablet is prepared from –
Soothashekhara Rasa – (Swarnayukta) – a herbo-mineral preparation – 10 mg
Majja of Bilwa – Bael (Fruit) – Aegle marmelos – 20 mg
Aragwadha – Pudding Pipe tree – Cassia fistula – 20 mg
kalamegha – Andrographis paniculata – 20 mg
Shankha Bhasma – Bhasma of Conch Shell – 20 mg
Shouktik Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx of pearl oyster) – 20 mg (Muktashukti) – 20 mg
Kapardika Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Cowries – 20 mg
Avipattikar Choorna – 100 mg

Side effects and precautions

Side effects and precautions: 
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It should be taken under strict medical supervision. Take this medicine only if your Ayurveda doctor has prescribed it to you.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time and in the prescribed dose only.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation and in children.
Over-dosage may cause gastritis, heart burn symptoms in people with sensitive stomach.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
