Diarrhin Syrup – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Diarrhin Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Ajmera Pharmaceuticals Pvt. Ltd. Indore. It is used in the treatment of diarrhoea, dysentery etc. 

Uses

Diarrhin Syrup uses:
It is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of Non specific diarrhoea, Chronic amoebic dysentery, IBS and Ulcerative colitis.

Effect on dosha

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Pitta and Vata.

Dose and duration of use

Diarrhin Syrup Dose: 1-2 teaspoonful  three times a day, before or after food as directed by physician.

How long to take? It can be taken for upto 1 – 2 months, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Bilvamajja – Aegle marmelos 200 mg
Kutaja – Connessi Bark – Holarrhena antidysenterica – 100 mg
Lodhra – Lodh tree (bark) – Symplocos racemosa – 100 mg
Mustha – 100 mg
Sugandhabala – 100 mg
Amra – Mango – Mangifera indica – seed kernel – 100 mg
Shunthi – Ginger – Zingiber officinalis – 100 mg
Indrayava – Connessi seed – Holarrhena antidysenterica – 100 mg
Ral – Shorea robusta –  50 mg
Jayaphala – Jati – Nutmeg  – Myristica fragrans -10,
Ahiphena – Purified Opium – Papaver somniferum – 10

Side effects and precautions

Side effects and precautions: 
This medicine contains Opium. Hence it should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
It is best to avoid giving this medicine to children, pregnant ladies and lactating mothers.
Over-dosage or taking medicine for a longer period of time, than prescribed may cause constipation and excessive sleep.
keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in a cool dry place.
Take this medicine only till the prescribed time, in the prescribed dose only.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
