Raktastambhak Tablet – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Raktastambhak Tablet is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine, manufactured by Shree Dhootapapeshwar Limited, Mumbai, India. It is used in treatment of menorrhagia, bleeding disorders, etc. 

Uses and effect on dosha

Raktastambhak Tablets uses: It is indicated in Ayurvedic treatment of Bleeding Disorders like Bleeding gums, Epistaxis, Haemoptysis, Haematuria, Anal bleeding due to Piles, Fissure & Fistula, DUB, Menorrhagia.

It is used as medicine for panchakarma treatment called Virechana – Purgation therapy.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Pitta.

Dose and duration of use

Raktastambhak Tablets Dose: 2 – 3 tablets twice or thrice a day with Usheerasava, Chandanasava, Sheetasudha, cow’s milk or honey or as directed by your physician.

How long to take? It can be taken for upto 1 week, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Raktastambhak Tablets Ingredients:
Each tablet contains –
Nagakeshara – Mesua ferrea – 100 mg,
Shuddha Laksha – Laccifer lacca – 100 mg,
Mocharasa – Extract of Bombax malabaricum – 100 mg,
Shuddha Gairika – Purified and processed Red Ochre – 50 mg,
Processed in Doorva Swarasa – Bermuda grass – Cynodon dactylon – juice extract – quantity sufficient.

Side effects

Side effect: 
Children, Pregnant and lactating mothers should take this product only under medical supervision.
Overdosage may cause constipation
keep out of reach and sight of children.
Store in a cool dry place.
Take this medicine only till the prescribed time.
