Shweta Parpati (Kshar Parpati) Uses, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Shweta Parpati is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet or powder form, used in the treatment of  difficulty in urination, dyspepsia, etc. This is also known as Kshara Parpati. 

Uses and effect on dosha

Shweta Parpati uses: 
It is used in the treatment of dyspepsia, urinary calculi, difficulty in urination.

Effect on Tridosha: Balances Vata and Pitta.

Dose and duration of use

Shweta Parpati Dosage:  125 – 500 mg,  once or twice a day before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It is given along with various co-drinks as explained above.

How long to use: It can be used upto 1- 2 month, based on doctor’s advice.

Ingredients

Sweta Parpati Ingredients, How To make?
Surya Kshara (Kalami sora / Soraka) – Purified Potassium nitrate – 16 grams
Sphatika  – Purified Potash Alum – 2 grams
Navasadara – Purified Ammonium chloride – 1 gram

All the ingredients are ground well, taken in mud vessel, heated, melted, poured on to an even surface, pressed to form thin white cakes (Parpati).

Unlike in other Parpati preparation, here, mud vessel is taken instead of iron vessel, and while heating, no ghee is added to the powder mixture.

Side effects

Kshara Parpati Side effects:  
It is best to avoid this medicine in children, pregnant and lactating mothers.
Take this medicine only in prescribed dosage for particular time period only.
Over-dosage may cause poisonous side effects.
Store in a cool dry place. Keep out of reach and sight of children.

  1. Sir, this medicine is prescribed by a Ayurvedic doctor to a Kidney patient with Creatinine 2.5 and Urea 50 with Urethral stricture, chronic prostatomegaly and frequent UTI. But since it contains Potassium, Ammonium etc., is this safe ?

  2. I took 4 gm of swet parti . मेरी जीब जल गयी. And ulcer comes on जीब . What should I do now.

    • Sir as you know due to over dose (nearly 4gm) of swet parti I got my tongue burn and ulcers . But I also want to know will this over dose can also do side affects to other organ like stomach..etc. tell me please .

        • Hi, I think you can stop Chandnasav and continue gokshuradi guggulu, neeri, cystone and pathrina.
          These four are very powerful enough to dissolve the stone, in about 4 – 6 weeks time.

          • sir, I have been taking gorukhradi guggul tablet cistone, tab pathrina , tab neeri from last 17 days as i Have 4.3 mm stone in Right kidney . I had pain in Right side only before starting these medicines. BUT now i have less pain in right kidney side BUT more pain in left kidney side . and stone is only in right kidney. sir i am in tension plz help me why more pain is occuring in left side kidney area JAB KI LEFT KIDNEY ME TO STONE HAI HI NAHI ? and some time i feel vomitting .

            • Hi, I sugest not to worry and continue the same tablets, after food – 1 tablet each 2 times a day after food for 2 more months and take a scan/ x ray to see the size of stone.

              • Sir I undergo CT urography now no calculate but still have pain at my back and pain during urination when I hold urine for long time. I am also have pain at my sole of foot from last 1.5 years .sir is random blood sugar level 99 is normal or not after 6 hour of food? sir I am so tensed that sometimes I fear that if I will develop diabetes. Tell me what to do?
