Arka Vati – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Arka Vati is an Ayurvedic medicine, in tablet from. It is used in the treatment of anorexia, indigestion and such other digestive disorders. 

Uses and effect on dosha

Abhaya Vati uses: It is used to improve digestion power and thus to help weight gain.

Effect on Tridosha: Balances kapha. Increases Pitta.

Dose and duration of use

Abhaya Bati Dosage: 1 – 2 tablets 1 – 2 times a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.

How long to use: It can be used upto 1 month, based on doctor’s advice.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Sauvarchala Lavana – Sochal Salt – 10 g
Arka – Calotropis procera – 10 g
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum – 10 g

सौवर्चलं सादरमर्कपुष्पं मरिचमेकत्र समं विमर्द्य ।
गुञ्जाप्रमाणा गुटिका विधेया, कर्षन्ति कार्श्यं क्रमश: कृशानो: ॥

sauvarcalaṃ sādaramarkapuṣpaṃ maricamekatra samaṃ vimardya |
guñjāpramāṇā guṭikā vidheyā, karṣanti kārśyaṃ kramaśa: kṛśāno: ||

Shelf life and side effects

Expiry date: 2 years from the date of manufacture

Abhay Vati Side effects:  
People with diabetes and hypertension should take this medicine under medical supervision, since it contains salt as an ingredient.
It may induce purgation in higher doses.
