  1. Hi, you need to mix it with equal quantity of water before taking it. If you already are doing so, try mixing 3 times water (if it is 10 ml Kashayam, then add 30 ml of water to it), before taking. If problem persists, consult your doctor for substitute.

  3. Says it is ‘shows remarkable results with insanity’. Can you define insanity as I believe this is an outdated medical term? (and an offensive one as well) 🙂

    • I am so sorry for the blunder. Have changed the terminology. I mean to write schizophrenia.
Drakshadi kashayam, being a potent Pitta calming medicine, it is very useful in controlling Pitta associated schizophrenia symptoms such as aggressiveness, violent behavior, anger etc.
Thanks for taking time to pointing out.

      • Dr. Hebber,
Schizophrenia is an established diagnosis with many subtypes as per DSM-5R where in some types have kapha predominance as well. Better you use the term psychosis or depressive disorder in manic phase where there is always pitta predominance.

  14. Sir, I have been prescribed Drakshadi Kashayam and Manasamitram pills for stressful, dreamy sleep (often negative dreams) that is creating mood problems during the day, anxiety and related problems which is affecting my routine life.
I was told I will start seeing positive results with 3-5 days. It is two weeks now, but there is not much change. I am continuing to take the medicine regularly hoping there will be results soon.
Kindly advise if I am on right track with the medicines for the symptoms mentions. Thank you.
