Danti Haritaki – Uses, Dose, Side Effect And Ingredients

Danti Haritaki is a rare Ayurvedic medicine used in the treatment of skin diseases, fever, liver conditions etc. Danti haritaki is an herbal jam product. It is also called as Danti haritaki leham.

Uses

Danti haritaki uses: 
It is used in the treatment of skin diseases, nausea, indigestion, liver and spleen complaints and chronic fever. This alleviates gulma, heart ailments, piles, dropsy, distension of stomach, poison, ascites, anemia and jaundice by purging.

Dosage

Danti haritaki dose: 
3 – 6 grams once or twice a day after food with milk or water or as advised by Ayurvedic doctor.
Dosage for children below 5 years of age – 1 – 2 grams, once or twice a day, along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.
Dosage for children between 5 – 12 years of age – 2-3 grams once or twice a day along with a teaspoon of honey or warm water / milk.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects

Danti haritaki side effect: No known side effects. But this medicine should always be taken under strict medical supervision. Overdose may cause diarrhoea and related complications.
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.

Danti haritaki ingredients: 
Danti – baliospermum montanum – Root – 1.2 kg
Chitraka – Plumbago zeylanica – Root – 1.2 kg
Haritaki – Terminalia chebula – Fruit rind – 1.2 kg
These three are added to 12.288 liters of water, boiled and reduced to 1.536 liters. Filtered.
To this, the following ingredients are added
Jaggery – 1.2 kg
Sesame oil – 192 ml
Trivirt – Operculina turpethum – 24 g
Heated till semisolid consistency. It is added with
Ginger – 24 g
Pepper – 24 g
Cinnamon, Cardamom, Patra, nagakeshar – 12 grams each.

Shelf life

3 years from the date of manufacturing. Once the bottle is opened, it is best to finish it within 4 – 5 months of time.
