My experience with this formulation – Dr MS Krishnamurthy:
Draksharishta is a good rejuvenator. I recommend this formulation to the non diabetic debilitated and anemic patients. In dry cough this is having good benefit when administered along with Sitopaladi choorna.

In the anemic patients who are having severe exertional dyspnoea if this arishta is administered along with Dhatri loha or Punarnava mandoora within 14-21 days good benefits are observed.

In children who are not willing to have the food due to anorexia or tastelessness if this is administered in the dose of 10-15 ml twice or thrice a day preferably 15-20 minutes before the food, with equal water their hunger and thirst is improved and start getting interest in the food.

In post jaundice period (after pacification of the major symptoms), this can be administered along with Dhatri loha or Navayasa loha by that there will be significant improvement in the overall health of the individuals. In eye diseases and menopausal syndrome also same combination holds good.

In throat irriataion and mild pharyngitis Draksharishtha is administered and there after Lavanagadi vati or Khadiradi vati is adviced to chew. If burning sensation is associated along with laryngitis or pharyngitis Eladi vati holds good.

To improve the stamina and musculature Draksharishtha is advised followed with Drakshavaleha or Kooshmanda avaleha.
In chronic pin worm cases of children, Draksharishtha is advised followed with Krimimudgara rasa orArogyavardhani vati.

    • It improves hemoglobin content in the body. In a very high dose for a very long period of time (more than 2 – 3 months of time), might cause some weight gain, but not in all.

  1. Is this good to take when someone is feeling constriction in the chest? Difficulty breathing. More COPD related problem. No kapha or phlegm. Maybe a bit of Vayu/gas related issue.
