  7. Is it actually prescribed in the reference that the ingredients need to be ‘fermented’ (i.e. have alcohol content)? Or is that an incorrect manufacturing method in contemporary times?

    • Sir this is the diet:
•First thing you need to do is eliminate fatty food and red meat from your diet. Including lots of fruits and vegetables into your diet will help improve your skin cells. In meats you can choose lean meat and fish as your preferred food. The best functional foods to consume are soy, cranberries, nuts and chocolate.
•Carrots, beets, cucumbers and grapes may be used for juices. Juices of citrus fruits should be avoided.
•The breakfast may consist of fresh fruits such as apples, grapes, pears, peaches, pineapples and a handful of raw nuts or a couple of tablespoons of raw seeds.
•A large bowl of fresh green vegetable salad and sprouts may be taken for lunch and dinner may consist of steamed vegetables and whole wheat chappatis.
•All animal fats, including milk, butter and eggs should be avoided. Refined or processed foods and foods containing hydrogenated fats or white sugar, all condiments, tea, coffee, alcohol and tobacco should also be avoided.

Line of Ayurvedic treatment for Psoriasis:
Ghritapana (oral administration of medicated ghee)
Vamana (emesis) (According to the need virechana-purgation can also be carried or else both are also recommended one after the other)
Shamana Aushadha (medicaments)- Both internal and external medication is carried.

  17. Very good information sir. Does balarishtam cure B vitamin deficiencies and neuro symptoms? . I remember my friend who was diagnosed with b12 ,b6 and other deficiencies at very young age. He had weak arms ,legs and numbness in them. English doctors tried supplementing but no full recovery. A hakim gave ksheerbala 101, ashwagandharishtham and balarishtam. he was fully recovered. All his numbness and body pains were gone..Ayurveda is excellent. Does it contain minerals and vitamins sir ?

    Reply
    • It contains very less vitamins and minerals. When the cause for neurological problem is deficiency of VItamin B 12, to solve that, it is best to take vitamin supplements directly + foods rich in those vitamins. After that, to improve nerve strength and conductivity and to relieve nerve irritation, those vitamin B supplements will not be useful. At that time, taking nerve sootheners such as Balarishta, Ksheerabala taila etc are very useful.

  18. My mother 80 has osteoarthritis since last 20 years. Recently she had balancing problems, falling down, feet gets stuck some times when she tries to take few steps. Blood test suggest rheumatoid factor -reactive. Orthopedic doctor gave her steroids, but instead we went to kerala arya vidya sala. Here doctor prescribed punarnavadi kwatham, chandraprabha vatika, Balarishtam. My mother took medicines but her B.P increased to 180/90 (earlier used to be 160-170). We discontinued chandraprabha vatika. Any side effects with Balarishtam – it contains Sida cordifolia Ephedrine alkaloid – which impact heart, BP (banned by US FDA). So is it more harmful than curing for my mothers problem? Do you suggest any alternate safe medicine for my aged mothers issue?

    Thanks
