Bresol Syrup: Uses, Ingredients, Dose, Side Effects

Bresol Syrup are the proprietary Ayurvedic medicines manufactured by Himalaya Herbal Healthcare. It is a breathing solution, useful in the treatment of asthma.

Benefits of Bresol Syrup:
Combats respiratory disorders.
The natural ingredients in Bresol synergistically act to provide symptomatic relief in allergic respiratory conditions.
Its antihistaminic property manages symptoms associated with respiratory disorders.
The mucolytic [reducing the viscosity of mucous] and brochodilatory [decreasing resistance in the breathing air ways] properties of Bresol are helpful in liquefying and relieving nasal and bronchial congestion.
Its anti-microbial action combats infections caused by gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Bresol Syrup:
Haridra [Curcuma longa] – 100.5 mg – Contains curcumin, a chemical constituentwhich blocks NF- kappa B, a protein complex that is linked to allergy and asthma.
Tulasi [Ocimum sanctum] – 50 mg – It possesses potent anti-histaminic property, which protect against pollen induced bronchospasm. Holy basil inhibits the production of nitric oxide, which renders the herb its antioxidant property. This is helpful in treating allergic respiratory disorders.
Vasa [Adathoda vasica] – 50 mg – It is widely used as a mucolytic, which thins mucus sputum and alleviates cough. Alkaloids found in the herb enhance its broncho-dilatory property. This function improves breathing in respiratory disorders.
Triphala [Embelca officinalis, Terminalia chebula, Terminalia bellerica] – 8 mg
Trikatu [Zingiber officinale, Piper longum, Piper nigrum] – 8 mg – Trikatu Churna is a simple mixture of three Indian spices. Trikatu Churna is in powder form. It is widely used in Ayurvedic treatments and in Indian household. Trikatu Churna falls both under medicinal herbs and dietary herbs.
Vidanga [Embelica ribes] – 8 mg
Musta [Cyperus rotendus] – 8 mg – Musta – Cyperus rotundus improves lactation, relieves fever, burning sensation, excessive thirst. Commonly known as nut grass, it is also used in treating diarrhea, dyspepsia, herpes and more.
Twak [Cinnamomum zeylanicum] – 5 mg
Ela [Elettaria cardamomum] – 5 mg
Nagakeshara [Mesua ferrea] – 5 mg

Uses

Indication of Bresol Syrup:
Allergic rhinitis [stuffy nose]
Allergic bronchitis
Bronchial asthma
Pollen allergy

Dose, duration of use

Dosage of Bresol Syrup:
Children above 6 months – ½ -1 tsp twice a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor.
Adults – 2 tsp twice a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor.

How long to use?
It can be safely used for a period of 2 – 3 months time, with gradual decrease in dosage.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, package, shelf life

Side effects of Bresol Syrup:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It is not suitable for people with diabetes.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Shelf life or expiration date: 3 years from the date of manufacture.
