Bilvayog is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine in lehya/paste/jam form, manufactured by Shree Narayan Pharmaceuticals. It is used in the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery.
Ingredients of Bilvayog:
Each 10 g contains –
Bilva phala [Aegle marmelos] – bael fruit
Shunti [Zingiber officinale] – Ginger rhizome
Maricha [Piper nigrum] – Black pepper – Black pepper has not got its well deserving credit. It certainly is not just another spice. It removes toxins conditions, heals, stimulates organs. It is also used as antidote in insect bites. It is one among the three ingredients of very important Ayurvedic medicine – Trikatu.
Pippali [Piper longum] –Long pepper fruit
Musali [Chlorophytum borivilianum]
Shatavari [Asperagus racemosus]
Amalaki [Embelica officinalis] – Amla – Indian gooseberry
Vidarikanda [Ipomea digitata]
Nagakeshara [Mesua ferrea] – Nagkesar is a very famous Ayurvedic herb used in treating fever, vomiting, urinary tract disorders, migraine etc. It is one among Chaturjata group of herbs. It is used as in powder form along with other spices, and put into many herbal jams including Chyawanprash.
Sharkara [Saccharum officinarum] – sugar
Indication of Bilvayog:
Chronic recurrent dysentery with mucous
Chronic & resistant infections with watery stools
Anxiety due to indigestion
Loss of enthusiasm
Dosage of Bilvayog: 1-2 tsp 2-3 times a day, or as directed by your Ayurvedic doctor.
How long to use?
It can be safely used for a period of 2 – 3 months time, with gradual decrease in dosage.
Side effects of Bilvayog:
Over-dosage may cause gastritis, heart burn symptoms in people with sensitive stomach.
This product is not suitable for people with diabetes and constipation
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
