Balpro Syrup is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Balvedics Pharmaceuticals. It is for stable and synchronized liver function.

Actions

Actions of Balpro Syrup:
Bhumyamalaki protects, clinically effective in hepatitis B, repairs and regenerates liver cells, protects hepatic parenchyma against hepato-toxins caused by the drug, alcohol and virus, improves appetite, digestion and ensures better assimilation of food.

Katuki shows significant cholagogue as evidenced by increase in bile flow, bile salts and bile acids.
Guduchi mediated through activation of Kuppffer cells, also helps in management of obstructive jaundice.
Amalaki shows hepato-protective action against antitubercular drugs induced toxicity. It also helps in normalizing elevated levels of AST, ALT, ALP, GGT and tissue lipid peroxide levels.
Haritaki & Vibhitaki shows excellent hepato-protective and anti-hepatotoxic effects against drug induced toxicities.
Triphala acts as a laxative and bowel tonic, and digestive, used in treatment of liver disorders.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Balpro Syrup:
Each 5 ml contains extracts of –
Bhumyamalaki [Phylanthus niruri] – 50 mg
Ardraka [Zingiber officinale] – 45 mg – Fresh ginger
Katuki [Picrorrhiza kurroa] – 50 mg
Guduchi [Tinospora cordifolia] – 60 mg
Haritaki [Terminalia chebula] – 75 mg
Vibhitaki [Terminalia bellerica] – 50 mg – Bibhitaki, also known as Baheda in Hindi, is one among three fruits of Triphala. Its actual Sanskrit name is Vibheetaki. Bheeta means, fear. Vibheeta means lack of fear and Vibhitaki means the fruit that takes away the fear of disease. But in Hindi, they usually pronounce ‘va’ as ‘ba’. So the name Bibhitaki. Its botanical name is Terminalia bellirica / bellerica.
Amalaki [Embelica officinalis] – 70 mg

Indication of Balpro Syrup:
Jaundice
Viral & drug induced hepatitis
Liver disorders due to alcohol
Hepato-toxicities of varied aetiology.
As a daily health supplement to improve appetite & digestion.
Promoting weight gain

Dose

Dosage of Balpro Syrup:
2 tsp [10 ml] twice a day, or as directed by the physician.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects of Balpro Syrup:
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Keep out of reach and sight of children
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
