Atisarahara Vati

Atisarahara Vati is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Sri Sri Ayurveda. It is a safe herbal medicine that controls bowels effectively without any harmful side effects. Atisarahara Vati contains herbs which act on the alimentary canal. 

Ingredients

Ingredients of Arisarahara Vai:
Each tablet contains –

  • Kutaj [Holarrhena antidysentrica] – 219.44 mg – Kutaj is a very famous herb used in treating diarrhoea, irritable bowel syndrome etc.
  • Mocharasa [Salmalia malabarica] – 60 mg
  • Ativisha [Aconitum heterophyllum] – 6.852 mg
  • Musta [Cyperus rotendus] – 6.852 mg – Musta – Cyperus rotundus improves lactation, relieves fever, burning sensation, excessive thirst. Commonly known as nut grass, it is also used in treating diarrhea, dyspepsia, herpes and more.
  • Vidanga [Embelica ribes] – 6.852 mg
  • Methyl paraben sodium – 0.72 mg
  • Propyl paraben sodium – 0.36 mg
  • Excipients – q.s.

Indication of Atisarahara Vati:

  • Atisara [diarrhoea]
  • Raktatisara [blood dysentry]
  • Pravahika [Dysentery/gastro-entrocolitis]
  • Grahani [sprue/malabsorption syndrome]
  • IBS – D
diarrhoea dysentery

Dose, duration of use

Dosage of Atisarahara Vati: 2 tablets with curd/buttermilk, or as directed by the physician.
This product can be administered in children in lower doses.

How long to use?
In chronic cases such as Irritable bowel syndrom associated with diarrhea, Ulcerative colitis etc, this product can can be safely used for a period of 2 – 3 months time, with gradual decrease in dosage.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects, package, shelf life

Side effects of Atisarahar Vati:

  • There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
  • Over dose may result in constipation.
  • Avoid this product in case of chronic constipation associated with hemorrhoids.
  • Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
    Keep out of reach and sight of children.

Shelf life or expiration date: 3 years from the date of manufacture
