Amrita Capsules: Uses, Dose, Ingredients, Side Effects

Amrita Capsule is a proprietary Ayurvedic medicine manufactured by Chirayu Pharmaceuticals. It is a good analgesic & anti-pyretic. A valuable allay in managing all weather cough. 

In Ayurveda Guduchi has a unique power to reduce fever.  Amrita Capsule contains Guduchi along with other Ayurvedic medicines which are mentioned in ancient Ayurvedic texts such as Godanti bhasma, Tribhuvankeerti rasa.

Ingredients

Ingredients of Amrita Capsule:
Each capsule contains-

  • Mahasudarshana Ghana satva – 60 mg
  • Vata vidhwamsana sphatika – 60 mg – Vat Vidhwans Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet or powder form. It is used in the treatment of neuritis, colic pain, etc. This should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
  • Tribhuvana kirti rasa – 60 mg – Tribhuvan Kirti Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet form. It is used in the treatment of acute and chronic fever. This also should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
  • Guduchi satva [Tinospora cordifolia] – 60 mg
  • Tulasi [Ocimum sanctum] – 60 mg
  • Godanti bhasma – 60 mg – Godanti Bhasma is an Ayurvedic medicine, prepared from Gypsum. It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of headache, Chronic Fever, leucorrhea etc. This medicine should only be taken strictly under medical supervision.

Indication

Indication of Amrita Capsule:

  • Cold
  • Fever
  • Influenza
  • Cough
  • Body ache
  • Also effective in common ailments due to change of weather.

Dose

Dosage of Amrita Capsule:

  • 1 capsule twice or thrice a day preferably with milk/tea or water.
  • This is a normal dose and can increase up to 4 capsules per day as per condition of the patient.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects of Amrita Capsule:

There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It should be taken under strict medical supervision. Take this medicine only if your Ayurveda doctor has prescribed it to you.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time and in the prescribed dose only.
Seek your doctor’s advice for its usage during pregnancy, lactation and in children.
Over-dosage may cause gastritis, heart burn symptoms in people with sensitive stomach.
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
