Geriton Leha – Uses, Dose, Side Effects

It is an excellent geriatric tonic manufactured by Muniyal Ayurveda Pharmaceuticals. It is useful in problems related to old age.

Uses, duration of use

Uses of Geriton Leha:
It is used in chronic respiratory problem, loss of appetite and constipation.

How long to use?
It can be used safely for a period of 1 – 2 months. For usage more than this period, you need doctor’s direct approval.

Dose

Dose: 1 table spoon twice daily.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Kantakari (Solanum surattense)
Haritaki (Terminalia chebula)
Pippali (Piper longum)
Ashwagandha (Withania somnifera)
Abhraka bhasma – Calx of Silica

Mode of action

Mode of action:
Kantakari is a natural bronchodilator. It opens up the respiratory tract and eases breathing, useful in cases of asthma, bronchitis etc. Read more about Kantakari

Storage, side effects

Storage:
Store in a cool dry place.
Once opened use it within 2 months.

Side effects of Geriton Leha:

  • It is to be taken with the prescription of a doctor.
  • Otherwise no such side effects have been proven yet.
  • Seek your doctor’s advice if you are diabetic. In diabetic patients, only if the blood sugar is under good control, then this medicine can be given.
