Vasant Tilak Ras – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Vasant Tilak Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet form, used in the treatment of respiratory and digestive disorders. This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision. This medicine is most commonly used in north Indian Ayurvedic practice.

Uses and effect on dosha

Vasant Tilak Ras Uses: It is used in the Ayurvedic treatment of cough, cold, asthma, anemia, adbominal pain, heart diseases, fever. It also acts as aphrodisiac and anti aging medicine.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata, Pitta and Kapha.

Dose and duration of use

Vasant Tilak Ras dosage:
125 – 250 mg once or twice a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It is advised along with honey, warm water.

How long to use: It is administered for a period of one month.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Ingredients

Vasant Tilak Ras ingredients, how to make:
Swarna Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Gold – 12 g
Abhraka Bhasma – Bhasma (calx) of Mica – 24 g
Loha Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Iron – 36 g
Shuddha Parada – Purified and processed Mercury – 48 g
Vanga Bhasma – Bhasma of Tin – 24 g
Mukta Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Pearl – 48 g
Pravala Bhasma – Bhasma (Calx) of Coral – 48 g
Decoction of
Gokshura – Small caltrops (whole plant) – Tribulus terrestris
Ikshu – Sugarcane – Saccharum officinarum – quantity sufficient for grinding.
Kasturi – Musk – 12 g
Karpura – Camphor – Cinnamomum camphora – 12 g

Drugs 1-7 should be added and mixed well. Mardana 7 times with drugs 8-10 is given separately and small tablets prepared. These tablets are heated by fire generated with 8 with cowdung cakes. This proces should be repeated 7 times. After that drugs 11-12 should be mixed with this.
