Amavatari Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet form. It is used in the treatment of Rheumatoid arthritis. This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision. This medicine is most commonly used in north Indian Ayurvedic practice.
Uses and effect on dosha
Amavatari Ras Uses: It is used in treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and osteo arthritis. It helps to relieve pain, inflammation and improves joint movement and flexibility.
Post viral fever, when the patient complains of body, muscle and joint pains
Bursitis,
Bursitis trochanterica,
Shoulder dislocation pain
Doctor also use this for the treatment of –
Psoriatic arthritis, osteo arthritis.
Knee stiffness, finger inflammation and stiffness
Backache and stiffness
Effect on Tridosha – Balances Vata and Kapha
Dose and duration of use
Amavatari Ras dosage:
250 – 500 mg once or twice a day, before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It is traditionally administered along with honey, hot water.
While taking this medicine, it is advised to avoid milk and green gram.
How long to use: It can be used upto 1 month based on doctor’s prescription.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia chebula – 10 g
Vibhitaki – Belliric Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia bellirica – 10 g
Amalaki – Indian gooseberry fruit – Emblica officinalis Gaertn. – 10 g
Vahni – Lead Wort (root) – Plumbago zeylanica – 40 g
Guggulu – Indian bedelium (gum resin) – Commiphora mukul – g0 g
Erandataila – Castor oil – Ricinus communis – quantity sufficient for grinding.
