Ichhabhedi Ras is an Ayurvedic medicine in tablet form. It is used in the treatment of ascites, constipation and bloating. This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision.
Uses
- It is used in the treatment of ascites, constipation and bloating.
- It is used to induce purgation.
- It is used in Ayurvedic panchakarma treatment called Virechana.
Effect on Tridosha – Balances Pitta and Kapha.
Dosage
250 mg before or after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor. It is traditionally administered along with cold water. Till the time patient drinks cold water, there will be purgation.
After taking this medicine, patient is advised to take rice with buttermilk.
With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.
Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.
With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.
Side Effects
There are no recorded side effects with this medicine.
It should be taken under strict medical supervision. Take this medicine only if your Ayurveda doctor has prescribed it to you.
Store in a cool dry place, in an air tight container, away from direct sunlight.
Use this medicine only till the prescribed time and in the prescribed dose only.

10 g fine powder of each of
Shunti – Ginger Rhizome – Zingiber officinalis
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
Shuddha Parada – Herbal purified Mercury
Shuddha Gandhaka – Herbal purified Sulphur
Tankana Bhasma – Borax
Shuddha Jayapala – Croton tiglium – 30 g
Fine power of above ingredient is ground with the juice extract, made into paste and pills are prepared.

Abhayadi Modak. Icchabhedi modak may cause severe diarrhea which may cause serious consequences.

ichhadhedi rasa is definitely useful in such problem, but since it sontain heavy metals in it it should be taken under strict medical supervision only.

Hello Sir, Agar constipation ki problem he to me aapko Triphala churna lene ki advise deti hu. Icchabhedi ras ka self medication advisable nahi he kyuki uska ek ingredient Mercury bhi he.

I am a regular user “every 6 Months” of Ichhabhedi ras tablet and what I have noticed is that untill I drink cold water or Buttermilk it increases and as soon u think system is clean I drink Tea and the loose motion stop like instant, That is my observation from last 8 Years, I use to take 1 tablet for first year and I take 2 Tablets and go to sleep at 10:00 PM and by 4 the cleaning starts and by 6-6:30 I am free. So I would say take it on your own risk, If you panic easily don’t even think of it also.
its right bt abhyadi modak is cheaper then ichhabhedi ras.
I am going to take this medicine for virechana panchkarma therapy. Since you mentioned this medicine contains mercury, I want to know will it cause any problem or side effects in the long term due to mercury accumulation in the body? Also pls mention the correct procedure of virechana.

Please don’t use ichhavedi ras or you will be very serious patient after using it. I have personal experience of it. After using thot your Colon will be straight and whatever you eat will come out as loose motion.your energy will be go to negative and then if you don’t take medicine you will be die. I get a new life and have an experience of having use it. So please don’t use this. your life is more important than constipation.
