Vimala Varti – Benefits, Dosage, Ingredients, Side Effects

Vimala Varti is an Ayurvedic collyrium medicine, used in the treatment of eye disorders such as cataract, itching etc. This medicine should be used strictly under medical supervision. his is formulated based on Kerala Ayurveda Principle. 

Vimala Varti uses: It is used in Ayurvedic treatment of cataract, itching, burning sensation, etc.

Effect on Tridosha – Balances Pitta and Kapha in the eyes.

Vimala Varti dosage:
It is applied as a paste or collyrium on the inner side of the eyelids.

How long to use? 
It can be used for a period of  1 – 2 months, based on doctor’s advice.

Vimala Varti side effects: 

Its usage in higher dose, or without medical supervision may cause eye irritation. In such case, wash your eyes thoroughly with sufficient quantity of water and call your doctor.

Keep out of reach and sight of children. Store in cool dry place.

Vimala Varti ingredients, how to make:
10 g fine powder of each of
Madhuka – Licorice – Glycyrrhiza glabra
Maricha – Black pepper – Piper nigrum
Pippali – Long pepper fruit – Piper longum
Lodhra – Lodh tree (bark) – Symplocos racemosa
Daru Haridra – Tree Turmeric (stem) – Berberis aristata
Haritaki – Chebulic Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia chebula
Vibhitaki – Belliric Myrobalan fruit rind – Terminalia bellirica
Amalaki – Indian gooseberry fruit – Emblica officinalis Gaertn.
Himambu – Cold water

The herbal fine powders are made into paste with boiled and cooled water and applied as paste over the inner part of eyelids.

Expiry date: Three years from the date of manufacture. Once after opening the container, it is better to empty it within a month.
