Niruryadi Gulika – Benefits, Dosage, Side Effects, Ingredients

Niruryadi Gulika is an Ayurvedic medicine used in treating diabetes and its complications. It is in tablet form. This medicine is formulated based on Kerala Ayurvedic practice. 

Benefits

  • It is useful in controlling blood sugar levels in Type 2 Diabetes.
  • It is effective in management of diabetic complications such as neuropathy.

Dosage


1 – 2 tablets 1 -2  times a day, after food or as directed by Ayurvedic doctor.
This medicine should only be taken under strict medical supervision. Self medication may cause side effects

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Pathya and Adjuvant

Pathya:
Butter milk or appropriate decoction.

Adjuvant:
Avoid sweets like milk and ghee.
Reduce sour and salty items. For meals use old barley or wheat. Rice is not very good. Rice from fresh paddy is harmful. Do physical exercise in an open place according to strength.

Side Effects


Regular blood sugar level check up and dosage adjustment is very essential to ensure optimum health benefits.

    One of the contents in this drug is Sita which is generally avoided in Diabetics..while this drug has been specifically prescribed for diabetes..can u plz help me understand why???

    • Hi, all manufacturers skip sugar as ingredient. Hence, useful for diabetes.
      Traditionally, it is indicated in Prameha – which covers urinary tract disorders including diabetes.
      Another point is, Sita – unrefined sugar was used in treating neuropathy symptoms of burning sensation, hence it was included in the formula previously.
