  1. Need advice on how to use of Triphala Ghritam, because conflicting info from practitioners; do I use twice per day for 1 month, then twice every other day for 2 weeks, then twice every 3-4 days for 2 weeks, then maintain result by once every 3-4 days (2x per wk) indefinitely?

  2. Hello Dr.Hebbar, In this post, you discourage self-treatment with triphla ghee. For computer strain would you recommend just plain ghee? Also, will triphala ghee be much more potent than ghee for this problem? Thank you and Happy new year.

  3. Sir, triphala is not recommended for thin people.
But triphala along with ghee, i.e., triphala grihatam can be given to thin people, right? Because ghee will balance the drying factor of Triphala. So, Triphala Grihtam is “detoxifying and nourishing” and triphala is “more detoxifying” right? Please correct if I’m wrong.

Another question is: Triphala has so wide range of benefits but Triphala Grihatam is mostly given for eye disorders only. Why? Does triphala grihtam lose the powerful laxative and other benefits of Triphala?

And third: Since it involves Ghee, it is helpful for weight gain?

    • if at all necessary triphala can be used in thin people also.
triphala gritham is MAINLY used in eye disorders. it is used in panchakarma for snehana procedure which is for so many types of disorders. it is mainly pittahara.
triphala gritha can not be used to increase weight, since it is pittahara it will surely cleanse your body but hardly increase your body mass.

  4. I have had twitching in my left eye for quite sometime. An Ayurvedic consultant suggested Mahattraiphala Gritam from Kottakal. I have been taking 1/2 to 1 spoon twice a day with warm water for almost a month. I still have the twitch, even though I feel the occurrences have reduced. Should I continue with it or is there anything else I can try ? Thanks
