    • in Ayurveda every medicine and its dose is decided not only according to the disease but also according to nature of disease and condition of the body for which direct thorough examination is required. so, please consult an Ayurveda doctor for the same.

    • Onions in general promote heart health, reduce inflammation and decrease the risk of cancer. Onions are low in calories (45 per serving), very low in sodium, and contain no fat or cholesterol. Furthermore, onions contain fiber and folic acid, a B vitamin that helps the body make healthy new cells. The fiber in onions promotes good digestion and helps keep you regular.
      The health risks include:
      • It may interfere with blood thinning drugs because of the content of high Vitamin K
      • Too much intake causes nausea, vomiting and gastric discomfort.

  7. Hallo Dr,

  8. Doctor, I am 43-Male. Had acidity issues for the past 10 years and diagnosed with mild chronic GERD before 2 years and was having PPIs regularly. Didn’t had much issues other than acidity blows up once in a while and was managing. Recently switched to Ayurveda medicine and continue having it for the last 2 months. But instead of relief from my acidity, I am experiencing life threatening symptoms like, severe pain in the esophagus sphincter & back throat radiating to ear, neck, back of the chest, shoulder blades. My sleeping pattern is severely affected. If I cough a little harder, I am spitting some blood in the morning. Please let me know if Ayurveda medicines first aggravate and then cure the disease. I was peaceful when I was having modern medicine despite a few issues of aggravation once in a while. Should I still wait for my symptoms to improve or to switch to modern medicine again? Now I have become a pure vegetarian and doing a moderate walking also. I have lost around 14 kgs from the last 4 months. In last month alone, I have lost 5.5 kgs of which I was concerned. But my Ayurvedic physician said all my blood reports are normal hence nothing to worry. But I am feeling very anemic and tired, short breadth. Esophageal spinster pain is there for the whole day. I am planning to practice “Art of Living” Yoga.

I started with Amrithotharam & Vasaguluchayadi in the beginning for 2 weeks and now having Vaaaguluchayadi+ Guluchayadi kashayam+ Trivridh lehyam + Acidact tablets.

Please let me know if Ayurveda will first aggrevate symptoms and then cure my disease. I am very much worried.

  11. Namaste,
I just wanted to point out that onion does not contain Vitamin K, as mentioned by Dr. Malini Bhat. It mostly contains water-soluble vitamins in traces with Vit-C being the highest (10-15%). So, the question by Ragahvendra H P, that…. why onion should be avoided with VAsa-guDucyAdi-kaShAya, still remains open.
    Could you please recheck?
    Thanks and regards,
    Dilip S
