Aravindasavam is a liquid Ayurvedic medicine used in children to improve digestion, body weight and strength. It is also used as a general tonic for all childhood complaints.

Uses

 Aravindasavam is used children’s problems like child does not eat well, lack of proper body weight, lack of strength.
It is also used in treating Grahadosha – psychological problems of children like – crying without reason, throwing tantrums etc.

Dose

3 – 12 ml once or twice a day, after food with equal quantity of water or as directed by Ayurvedic expert.

With western medicines
Seek your doctor’s advice if you are taking this product along with other western (allopathic/modern) medicines. Some Ayurvedic herbs can interact with modern medicine.
If both Ayurvedic and allopathic medicines are advised together, then it is best to take allopathic medicine first, wait for 30 minutes and then, after a gap of 15 – 30 minutes, take Ayurvedic medicine or as directed by the physician.

Can this be used while taking Homeopathic medicine?
Yes. This product does not react with homeopathic medicine.

With supplements like multivitamin tablets, Omega 3 fatty acids etc?
Yes. Generally, this product goes well with most of the dietary supplements. However, if you are taking more than one product per day, please consult your doctor for an opinion.

Side effects

High dose may cause gastric irritation. It is better to avoid giving this before food.
In some children, this is known to cause loose stools – 2 – 3 times in a day.

How long to use?
Based on doctor’s prescription, this medicine can be used for several months.

From which month we can give Arvindasav to new born baby and how much per day?
Aravindasava is used as medicine, only when there is requirement. No need to give it on a daily basis.
It is best to use it in babies above 1 year, only under medical prescription

Aravinda (lotus – Nelumbo nucifera) – Flower – 48 g
Usheera (Vetivera zizanioides) – Root – 48 g
Kashmari (Gmelina arborea) – Fruit – 48 g
Utpala (Nymphaea stellata) – Flower – 48 g
Manjishta (Rubia cordifolia) – Root – 48 g
Bala (Sida cordifolia) – Root – 48 g
Jatamansi (Nardostachys jatamansi) – Rhizome – 48 g
Ela – Cardamom – Seed – 48 g
Ambuda – Musta (Cyperus rotundus) – Rhizome – 48 g
Sariva (Hemidesmus indicus) – Root – 48 g
Shiva – Haritaki (Terminalia chebula) – Fruit – 48 g
Vibhitaki (Terminalia bellirica) – Fruit rind – 48 g
Vacha (Acorus calamus) – Rhizome – 48 g

Sugar – 4.8 kg
Honey – 2.4 kg

Method of manufacturing – sugar is dissolved in water, filtered. To it, coarse powder of rest of the ingredients and honey are added and mixed well. Kept sealed in a mud pot for 1 month for fermentation. It is then filtered and stored in air tight container.

  1. If your doctor has suggested it before food, then there is nothing wrong. In some children with sensitive stomach, it may cause a little burning sensation, that is why, I advised against before food. But if your son has no problem with it, please continue. No problem.

    • Not very necessary. Some kids may find it a bit ‘strong’ or ‘hot’. That is why it is generally advised to mix water with it before giving. if your child is comfortable, then no need of adding water.

  2. doctor my child 5 years is gluten intolerant. even on gluten free diet his digestive system is very delicate and reacts to most preservatives etc.he is currently taking aravindasavam (10 ml) two times a day. and 1/4th tspn haridrakhand once in the morning. both after food. will help his overall digestion

  3. Doctor, my daughter is 21 month old and our physician has prescribed aravindasav to be given till she is 5 yrs old. Is it okay to give this medicine for a longer period.
    Will this medicine help in building immunity also?

  4. My son is 20 months old he is allergic to buffalo milk ,so we give him cows milk, and he has digestionproblem, 4_5 times hegoes to stool, pls tell dosage of the aravindaaswa to give

  5. I am giving aravindasav by baidyanath to my 2 ye old son since more than a year regularly two times with water daily. Since 7-8 days he is smelling like acetone in his breath particularly from nose. Can aravindasav can be a cause? I m really worried please help….

  6. hi my Kid is 3 yrs old and i have recently started giving Aravindasava by Sawdeshi Ayurved Bhandar without water 5ml twice a day, as he is very fussy about food, and skip meals too i force him to eat but he will not eat. Hope this medicine will help him to increase his appetite.

  7. Hi Doctor, My son is 7 yrs old and is underweight by 4 kgs, doc has prescribed Aravindasavam+ balamritam 10 ml twice a day and acidact tab half twice a day ,all after food for 15 days. Doctor pls advice if this help. Why is acidact tab taken with this??

  8. Doctor, my son is 7 yrs and is underweight by 4 kgs, doctor has prescribed him Aravindasavam+balamritam 10 ml twice a day along with Acidact tab(half) a day all after meals for 15 days. Please advise if this dosage will help him gain weight and strength. And ppls also let know the use of intake of Acidact tab.

    • Hello madam, Acidact might be prescribed to relieve any stomach irritation that your son may have or that might be caused due to taking the above combination.

    I have started giving arvindasav to my son of 34 months today, of 5 ml with 5 ml of water, but suddenly there are rashes over his body with itching , is this a side effect? What should I do ? Can you please suggest Doctorow

    • Hello sir, Ayurveda has presented very good effects in patients of Cerebral palsy. Although cerebral palsy may not be entirely cured, Ayurvedic treatment can certainly aid to lessen disability and increase the functioning of the affected individual to a great extent.
      Panchkarma treatments which are beneficial in this condition are:
      Abhyangam: Massage of the whole body with medicated oils
      Pinda sweda
      Shirobasti
      Shirodhara
      Basti

  10. Hi, it is apparently safe in a dose of 3 ml, mixed with 5 ml of water, 2 times a day for 1 month time. Please continue it for 2 weeks time. If gas persists, then consult an Ayurveda doctor and stop using it.

  11. MY child doesn’t go potty 2 and three days but when goes after it so cries to pass stool so recommend any medicine in herb as already stared to give Arvindasava patanjali syrupy

  12. my son age is 12 years ca i use aravindasavam. his ige levels are 1900.. he has frequent cold and cough. what medicine should take by him
